SUNRISE, Fla., Dec. 16 (UPI) -- Michael Frolik scored on a slapshot with 1:21 remaining Wednesday and the Florida Panthers, despite letting a three-goal lead slip away, edged Atlanta 4-3.

The Panthers took a 3-0 lead 2:54 into the second period on a goal by Bryan McCabe, but Ilya Kovalchuk started Atlanta's comeback late in the second with his 18th goal of the campaign.

Nik Antropov and Slava Kozlov scored during the first 7 minutes of the third to tie it before Frolik ripped a blast that eluded the grasp of Johan Hedberg.

Florida has won three out of four and got a 20-save effort from Tomas Vokoun.

Hedberg stopped 25-of-29 shots.
