PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 15 (UPI) -- The Philadelphia Phillies and pitcher Roy Halladay have agreed to a three-year, $60 million contract extension, sources say.
Citing unnamed sources, MLB.com reported that the deal, which would put the all-star pitcher under contract to Philadelphia through 2013, would see the Toronto Blue Jays send Halladay and $6 million to the Phillies in exchange for prospects Kyle Drabek, Michael Taylor and Travis d'Arnaud.
Also as part of the deal, the Phillies would send Cy Young Award-winning pitcher Cliff Lee to the Seattle Mariners for prospects Phillippe Aumont, Tyson Gillies and J.C. Ramirez, MLB.com said.
The sources said Halladay was set to take a physical Tuesday and the deal could be announced at Citizens Bank Park as early as Wednesday, depending on how quickly the other players in the deal can take their physicals.
