
KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Dec. 15 (UPI) -- Scotty Hopson scored 14 points and Wayne Chism added 13 Tuesday, fueling No. 8 Tennessee's 77-58 victory over Wyoming.
Tyler Smith chipped in with 10 points and six assists for the Volunteers (8-1). Brian Williams added nine points and seven rebounds in Tennessee's win.
The Vols led by a single point at the half, 42-41, but slowly built their lead in the second frame. After an Afam Muojeke bucket drew Wyoming to within three at 52-49, Tennessee rattled off seven straight points, capped by a Melvin Goins jumper with 13:25 to go to put his team up 59-49.
Muojeke registered a game-high 15 points for the Cowboys (5-5), who saw their three-game win streak halted. A.J. Davis added nine points and pulled down seven rebounds as Wyoming committed 29 turnovers and was an anemic 5-of-19 shooting from the field in the second half.
