BOSTON, Dec. 15 (UPI) -- The Boston Bruins placed forward Milan Lucic on injured reserve Tuesday, team officials said.

They indicated Lucic, who missed 14 games earlier this season, would be sidelined for about four weeks due to a high left ankle sprain. He hasn't played since Nov. 25 because of the injury.

In 10 games this season, Lucic has two goals and three assists. He signed a three-year contract extension this past offseason. Earlier in the season he required surgery to repair a fractured finger.

The Bruins recalled forward Andy Wozniewski and defenseman Adam McQuaid from Providence of the AHL to fill vacant roster spots.
