NHL: Nashville 5, Columbus 2

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Dec. 14 (UPI) -- Steve Sullivan powered the Nashville Predators to a 5-2 win over Columbus Monday with the seventh hat trick of his career.

Patric Hornqvist and Ryan Jones posted the other goals for Nashville, which has won three of its last four games.

The Predators broke the game open with three goals in the second period, two of them by Sullivan.

Antoine Vermette and Jakub Voracek scored power-play goals for the Blue Jackets, who have dropped six of seven.

Nashville's Dan Ellis made 28 saves and Columbus' Steven Mason had 27.
