
TORONTO, Dec. 13 (UPI) -- Matt Stajan scored a pair of goals, including the eventual game-winner, in Toronto's 6-3 win over the visiting Washington Capitals.
Stajan, who also had an assist, got in front of the Washington defender and snapped a wrist shot at close range past Caps' goalie Michal Neuvirth at 5:03 of a three-goal third period for the Leafs.
Phil Kessel had two assists and a goal for Toronto, which has won three consecutive games. Vesa Toskala racked up 34 saves in the win. Alexei Ponikarovski, Niklas Hagman and Lee Stempniak accounted for Toronto's other goals.
Toronto battled back with three goals in the second and three goals in the third periods after falling behind 2-0 in the first period on goals by Washington's Alex Ovechkin and Niklas Backstrom. Backstrom added a goal in the second period that put Washington ahead 3-2.
