
TUSCALOOSA, Ala., Dec. 13 (UPI) -- Robbie Hummel's 23 points and nine rebounds Saturday rallied fifth-ranked Purdue to a 73-65 victory over Alabama.
The comeback win came after the Boilermakers had trailed 37-28 at halftime and 46-30 on Tony Mitchell's free throw with 16:40 remaining in the game.
Back-to-back baskets by Hummel drew Purdue within 55-49 with 10:07 left and his 3-pointer tied the game 64-64 with 5:20 left.
From that point, the Crimson Tide had no answer.
E'Twaun Moore scored 15 points with five rebounds.
Chris Kramer scored 14 with three rebounds and three steals, while JaJuan Johnson added 10 points and nine rebounds for the unbeaten Boilermakers (9-0), who moved a game away from tying their best start ever -- 10-0 in the1927-28 season.
Mikhail Torrance led Alabama with 18 points, five rebounds and three assists.
JaMychal Green scored 16 with eight rebounds and Justin Knox scored 14 with five rebounds for the Crimson Tide (6-3), who had won three in a row.
