Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

TORONTO, Dec. 11 (UPI) -- Joe Johnson led a second-quarter surge Friday and scored 20 points to send Atlanta coasting past Toronto 111-89.
Toronto had a one-point lead early in the second period, but by halftime the Hawks had taken control with a 13-point cushion. The Raptors were unable to challenge over the final two quarters.
Jamal Crawford and Maurice Evans each scored 15 for Atlanta, winners of three in a row. The Hawks defeated the Raptors by 31 previously this month.
Toronto was led by Andrea Bargnani with 17. The Hawks played without forward Joe Smith, who is recovering from a dislocated thumb.
Atlanta made 51.8 percent of its shots from the field, including 9-of-18 3-point attempts.
