PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 9 (UPI) -- The Philadelphia Eagles extended the contract of Coach Andy Reid through the 2013 season, the team said Wednesday.

Reid became the Eagles coach Jan. 11, 1999, and is the second-longest tenured current coach in the NFL, behind Tennessee's Jeff Fisher. Over 11 seasons under Reid, Philadelphia is 105-66-1, including an 8-4 mark this year.

He was voted the Sporting News NFL Coach of the Year after the 2000 and 2002 seasons. The team's best season with Reid as coach was 2004, when the Eagles went 13-3 an advanced to the Super Bowl. Reid has helped the Eagles to the playoffs seven times and is tied for the NFC East lead in 2009.

The new deal, of which financial terms weren't announced, represents a three-year extension on the contract Reid had with the Eagles.
