NBA: Orlando 97, Los Angeles Clippers 86

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 9 (UPI) -- Dwight Howard's 25 points and 11 rebounds Tuesday led Orlando to a 97-86 win over the Los Angeles Clippers and its eighth consecutive road game.

Howard, who also blocked seven shots, was 7-of-10 from the field and hit 11 free throws.

Rashard Lewis hit 17 points for the Magic. Jason Williams scored 16 and Vince Carter contributed 13.

Eric Gordon led the Clippers with 21 points and Baron Davis scored 18.

The Magic pulled away with a 7-0 run early in the fourth quarter that extended their lead to 82-71 with less than 8 minutes left. The lead was extended to as many as 14 points down the stretch.

Los Angeles made their bid in the third quarter after trailing 53-47 at halftime. DeAndre Jordan's slam dunk put the Clippers ahead 69-68 with 2:55 to play in the third quarter.
