NHL: Los Angeles 2, Calgary 1

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 8 (UPI) -- Jarret Stoll put Los Angeles ahead in the second period Monday and Jonathan Quick rejected a flurry of late shots in a 2-1 win over Calgary.

Quick made 13 of his 26 saves in the final period, assuring Los Angeles its fourth win in five games. A key sequence came when Quick not only stopped Dion Phaneuf's wrist shot but kept the puck out despite Rene Bourque's four whacks at the rebound. Shortly after, Quick made a glove save on a bouncing shot followed by Olli Jokinen's snap shot off the post.

Stoll redirected a centering pass from Justin Williams that beat Flames goalie Miikka Kiprusoff at 4:34 of the second period, breaking a 1-1 tie that had stood since Curtis Glencross's backhander eluded Quick at 4:21 of the first period.

The Kings had gone up 1-0 on Scott Parse's goal at 8:54 of the first period.

Kiprusoff finished with 14 saves for the Flames, who ended a six-game road trip 4-2.
