TAMPA, Fla., Dec. 7 (UPI) -- Alex Ovechkin, back from a two-game suspension, scored twice and Semyon Varlamov stopped 26 shots Monday in a 3-0 Washington Capitals win over Tampa Bay.

The Caps have won six in a row.

Ovechkin, who was suspended for a knee-to-knee hit on Carolina's Tim Gleason last week, notched his goals in the second period. Eric Fehr recorded the other goal, also in the second.

Tomas Fleischmann added two assists.

Varlamov's shutout was his second this season and fourth of his NHL career.

Tampa Bay goalie Mike Smith stopped 31 shots in the Lightning's fifth loss in six games.
