
CINCINNATI, Dec. 6 (UPI) -- A Carson Palmer TD pass, Jonathan Fanene interception run and three field goals by Shayne Graham Sunday carried Cincinnati past the Detroit Lions 23-17.
Palmer was 17-for-29 for 220 yards, including a 36-yard touchdown toss to Chad Ochocinco, and was intercepted twice.
Fanene picked off a pass and ran 45 yards for a score and Graham's field goals were from 44, 39 and 23 yards.
Cedric Benson, who had missed two games with a hip injury, carried 36 times for 110 yards in the fifth win in six games for the Bengals (9-3).
Cincinnati leads the AFC North, 2 1/2 games ahead of the Baltimore Ravens, who play Green Bay Monday night.
The Lions (2-10) took an early lead on a 54-yard Matthew Stafford-to-Calvin Johnson pass play, then gave up 23 straight points before completing the scoring with a 2-yard run by Kevin Smith.
Stafford finished with 11 completions in 26 attempts for 143 yards. He was intercepted twice.
