Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24
NEW YORK, Dec. 6 (UPI) -- Al Harrington's 26 points and 14 rebounds Sunday paced the New York Knicks to a 106-97 win over the New Jersey Nets.
New Jersey made a game effort to record its second straight victory by grabbing a 61-53 halftime advantage, but New York assumed control with a 33-18 third period.
In a close fourth, New Jersey closed to 93-90 on Courtney Lee's jumper with 7:39 left, but never led.
Larry Hughes scored 25 with four rebounds and four assists, David Lee scored 24 with nine rebounds, and Danilo Gallinari added 11 points and four rebounds for the Knicks, who have won three of four.
Chris Douglas-Roberts paced New Jersey with 26 points, four assists and three steals.
Brook Lopez scored 19 with six rebounds, while Devin Harris added 19 points with six assists and three steals for the Nets, who snapped their record season-opening 18-game losing streak Friday.
