The win was the second in two days for Vonn. She edged Brydon and Riesch in Friday's event.

Lake Louise traditionally opens the World Cup season with two separate downhill and Super-G competitions.

Vonn trailed Riesch at the halfway split, but she built up speed in the glide portion of the course and overtook Riesch's pace in the final 15 seconds of her run.
