THOUSAND OAKS, Calif., Dec. 4 (UPI) -- Y.E. Yang, who rallied past Tiger Woods to win the PGA Championship in August, took a two-shot lead Friday after two rounds of the Chevron World Challenge.
Yang, who became the first player to overtake Woods during the final round of a major championship, stood at 9-under 135 for 36 holes at the Sherwood Country Club.
Kenny Perry also shot a 65 and moved into a tie for second place at 137 with Padraig Harrington and first-round co-leader Ian Poulter.
Lee Westwood and Zach Johnson shared fifth place at 138.
Woods is the host of this tournament, but he withdrew after suffering injuries in an automobile accident in front of his home on a week ago. That accident, in turn, has opened his private life to public scrutiny.
