COLUMBUS, Ohio, Dec. 3 (UPI) -- Two goals each from Jason Blake and Phil Kessel Thursday lifted Toronto to its second straight victory -- 6-3 over Columbus.
It is the third time this season Toronto has won back-to-back games. The Maple Leafs have yet to put together a three-game winning streak.
Lee Stempniak and Nikolai Kulemin also scored for the Maple Leafs and Joey MacDonald made 33 saves.
Steve Mason allowed four goals on 14 shots and was replaced by Mathieu Garton midway through the second period. Garon saved 9-of-11 shots. Columbus has lost two in a row and seven of eight.
Toronto had only a 2-1 lead 6 minutes deep in the second period, but then scored three times over the next 6 minutes to turn the game into a runaway.
The Maple Leafs learned Thursday that goaltender Jonas Gustavsson would be out indefinitely with an irregular heartbeat. His heart rate became elevated during Tuesday's game.
