CHICAGO, Dec. 3 (UPI) -- John Salmons scored 22 points Wednesday and Chicago got off to a quick start en route to a 92-85 victory over Detroit.

Derrick Rose added 19 points and Brad Miller produced 16, helping the Bulls halt a five-game losing streak.

Detroit's Ben Gordon played against the Bulls for the first time since leaving Chicago as a free agent this summer. He was questionable before the game with a sprained ankle, but contributed 18 points. It was the eighth loss in nine games for the Pistons.

Chicago held the Pistons to 10 points in the first quarter and built a 14-point lead. A 13-2 run in the third quarter allowed Chicago to open a 17-point cushion going into the fourth period.

Detroit has lost in its last seven trips to Chicago.
