SAN JOSE, Calif., Dec. 2 (UPI) -- Patrick Marleau scored a pair of goals and Dany Heatley picked up two assists against his former team in San Jose's 5-2 win Tuesday over visiting Ottawa.

San Jose also had goals from Jamie McGinn, Manny Malhotra and Ryan Clow in its fifth win in its last six games.

Milan Michalek scored twice for the Senators but Brian Elliott allowed four goals on 32 shots. Michalek was one of the players San Jose traded to Ottawa in September for Heatley.

Marleau, playing in his 900th NHL game, opened the scoring a 7:06 of the first period. McGinn added a goal less than a minute later to put the Sharks ahead 2-0.

After Michalek scored his first goal with 7:57 remaining in the first period, Marleau tallied what proved to be the game-winning goal midway through the second period on an assist from Heatley.

Thomas Griess made 25 saves in goal for San Jose.
