Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

GAINESVILLE, Fla., Dec. 1 (UPI) -- Dan Werner scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds Tuesday in No. 17 Florida's 80-59 rout of Florida A&M.
Alex Tyus had 15 points, including a jumper triggering a second-half surge that saw the Gators (7-0) expand their four-point halftime advantage to a 19-point lead.
Vernon Macklin contributed 14 for Florida and Erving Walker helped out with 10 points and five assists.
During the decisive second-half surge, Tyus started off with a jumper, Walker hit a 3-pointer and Werner's trey finished it up as the Gators established a dominating 53-34 advantage.
Christopher Walker scored a game-high 19 points for the Rattlers (0-8). Yannick Crowder contributed eight points and seven rebounds.
