NEW YORK, Nov. 30 (UPI) -- U.S. auto racing driver Danica Patrick said Monday she will return to the IndyCar Series as a member of Michael Andretti's racing team.
The Indianapolis Star said Patrick, 27, and the retired Formula One driver appeared on ABC's "Good Morning America" Monday to confirm Patrick signed a multi-year agreement with Andretti's team.
The agreement was officially signed in August, but could not be announced to the public until Patrick's deal with Motorola expired. Specific details of the new deal were not released.
As a member of Andretti Autosport, Patrick will drive the No. 7 car that is sponsored by GoDaddy.com.
Patrick signed on with Andretti Green Racing in 2007 and enjoyed a series victory the following year in Japan, the Star reported. During the last season, the female driver finished fifth in the overall standings.
