ATLANTA, Nov. 30 (UPI) -- Maxim Afinogenov's wrist shot with 5.5 seconds remaining in the third period Monday gave the Atlanta Thrashers a 4-3 victory over the Florida Panthers.
Afinogenov, assisted by Nik Antropovd, directed the puck into the net on the glove side of Florida goalie Scott Clemmensen.
Mark Popovic, Ilya Kovalchuk and Chris Thorburn put in the other goals for the Thrashers, who have won four straight games and eight of 11.
Jonas Hedberg stopped 25 shots for Atlanta.
Florida's starting goalie, Tomas Vokoun, was taken from the game on a stretcher after being struck on the head by a swinging stick in the first period. Vokoun allowed two goals and stopped three shots. Clemmensen took over and blocked 28.
