LONDON, Nov. 30 (UPI) -- Roger Federer will finish the year as men's tennis No. 1 player but the year's final rankings show the resurgence of Nikolay Davydenko.

Federer reached the semifinals of the season-ending ATP World Tour Finals in London in locking up his fifth year-end No. 1 ranking. He was No. 1 each year at the end of 2004-07, dropped to No. 2 last year behind Rafael Nadal and has retaken the top spot in 2009. He's been No. 1 for a total of 247 weeks.

Davydenko won the ATP World Tour Finals, beating Juan Martin del Porto in straight sets Sunday, and moved to No. 6 in the world rankings. He ended last year at No. 5, slipped to 12th by July but is back solidly in the Top 10.

Nadal kept his No. 2 ranking -- a spot he's had for 166 weeks -- and Novak Djokovic is third ahead of No. 4 Andy Murray while del Potro is fifth.

Davydenko's move dropped Andy Roddick, who didn't play last week due to injury, to seventh while Robin Soderling, a tournament semifinalist, moved to eighth, pushing Fernando Verdasco to ninth. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga is 10th.
