Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24
CHAPEL HILL, N.C., Nov. 29 (UPI) -- No. 12 North Carolina, led by Deon Thompson with 23 points, used a late 12-3 run and free throws Sunday to hold off the Nevada Wolf Pack 80-73.
Ed Davis scored 16 points and pulled down 15 rebounds for the Tar Heels (6-1).
The win was the 600th for North Carolina Coach Roy Williams.
Armon Johnson finished with 20 points and Luke Babbit tallied 15 for Nevada (2-3)).
