
ANAHEIM, Calif., Nov. 29 (UPI) -- Demontez Stitt's two late free throws Sunday boosted 19th-ranked Clemson past No. 10 Butler 70-69 in the consolation game at the 76 Classic in Anaheim, Calif.
Stitt capped a 19-point, three-assist performance by sinking the game-winners with 3 seconds left, completing Clemson's comeback from a 33-26 halftime deficit.
Trevor Booker scored 12 points with eight rebounds and Andre Young had 12 with three rebounds for the Tigers (6-1), who suffered a 69-60 loss to Texas A&M on Friday.
Gordon Hayward led Butler with 18 points and 12 rebounds.
Shelvin Mack scored 15 points with eight rebounds and four assists and Matt Howard added 10 with three rebounds for the Bulldogs (4-2), who had beaten UCLA 69-67 Friday.
Butler shot 53.8 percent from the field to Clemson's 46.3 percent.
