ANAHEIM, Calif., Nov. 28 (UPI) -- Gordon Hayward made two free throws with a second to play Friday, giving No. 12 Butler a wild 69-67 victory over UCLA.
Butler (4-1) bounced back from its first loss of the season on Thursday against Minnesota and fought off the Bruins with the help of Shelvin Mack's 21 points.
Mack, however, missed a free throw with 12 seconds to play, leaving Butler in front by three and giving UCLA a chance to tie it.
The Bruins did so when Jerime Anderson hit a 3-pointer with 8 seconds to play.
UCLA's Michael Roll then fouled Hayward with 1 second remaining and Hayward made good on both attempts to clinch the victory.
Nikola Dragovic led UCLA with 14 points.
