
SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 26 (UPI) -- Marian Hossa scored a pair of goals in his debut with Chicago Wednesday and the Blackhawks routed San Jose 7-2 for their eighth straight victory.
Hossa, in his return to action from off-season shoulder surgery, scored a shorthanded goal at 4:57 of the second period to give the Blackhawks a 3-0 lead. It was the second of three Chicago shorthanded goals in the game -- the third one coming 28 seconds later by Patrick Sharp.
The victory got the Blackhawks within two points of the Sharks, tops in the NHL with 36 points.
Sharp, Brent Seabrook and Troy Brouwer each finished with a goal and an assist for Chicago. John Madden and Dustin Byfuglien each scored a goal and Duncan Keith had three assists.
Cristobal Huet was 22-of-24 in goal for the Blackhawks.
Evgeni Nabokov was pulled after allowing four goals on 29 shots and Thomas Greiss let in three goals on 12 shots in relief.
Dan Boyle and Joe Pavelski scored a goal apiece for the Sharks, who have lost three of their last five games.
