HOUSTON, Nov. 26 (UPI) -- Jason Terry scored 27 points Wednesday and the Dallas Mavericks ended the first period on a 23-point run to roll past Houston 130-99.

Jason Kidd had seven assists, moving him into second place on the NBA all-time list with 10,337. He passed Mark Jackson and trails only John Stockton, who dished out 15,806 assists in his career.

The Mavericks bounced back from an unexpected loss to Golden State Tuesday, one in which the Warriors used only six players. Dallas increased its lead in the Southwest Division to three games.

Dirk Nowitzki had 25 points for the Mavericks and Tim Thomas had a season-high 23 before fouling out. Dallas has won six of its last seven games.

Dallas shot 65.5 percent from the field and turned 17 Houston turnovers into 29 points.

The Rockets were led by 24 points from Carl Landry.

The Mavericks trailed 17-4 before going on their big run to close the first period.
