UNIONDALE, N.Y., Nov. 25 (UPI) -- Scott Hartnell's third-period goal Wednesday boosted the Philadelphia Flyers to a 2-1 win over the New York Islanders.

His eighth goal this season, coming off a pass from Jeff Carter, snapped a 1-1 tie at 14:33 of the third.

Mike Richards also scored, while net-minder Brian Boucher made 28 saves on 29 shots for the Flyers, who broke a three-game losing streak overall and a string of five straight road losses.

Trent Hunter (power play) scored New York's lone goal at 8:05 of the first.

Martin Biron, making his first start against his former teammates, was beaten twice on 28 shots for the Islanders, who have lost three of four.

The loss was the Islanders' 11th in a row against Philadelphia.
