
CHAMPAIGN, Ill., Nov. 25 (UPI) -- Demetri McCamey's game-high 21 points led 21st-ranked Illinois to a 78-64 win over Wofford Tuesday in the Las Vegas Invitational.
Mike Davis had 16 points and 11 rebounds and D.J. Richardson tallied 15 for Illinois (4-0).
Junior Salters led Wofford (2-3) with 15 points on 5-of-11 shooting from 3-point range. Noah Dahlman and Corey Godzinski were also in double figures, although the Terriers shot just 39.3 percent from the field compared with Illinois' 57.1 percent.
Wofford led much of the first half and hung in with the Illini until early in the second half when Illinois snapped a 50-50 tie with a 22-7 run. McCamey scored nine points in the outburst, which was capped by a Davis jumper that pegged Illinois to a 72-57 lead with 3:47 left on the clock.
