Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

DENVER, Nov. 24 (UPI) -- David Jones scored twice to help Colorado build a three-goal lead Monday and the Avalanche held on to defeat the Philadelphia Flyers 5-4.
Paul Stastny, Cody McLeod and Scott Hannan produced the other goals for Colorado.
Stastny and Ryan O'Reilly each contributed two assists.
Daniel Briere and Jeff Carter had two goals apiece for Philadelphia, which trailed 5-2 entering the third period.
Craig Anderson recorded 30 saves for Colorado. Ray Emery, who allowed four goals, and Brian Boucher, each stopped 13 shots for the Flyers.
