
SYRACUSE, N.Y., Nov. 24 (UPI) -- Brandon Triche scored 21 points, including six in a 12-0 second-half run, to spark No. 9 Syracuse to an 88-73 triumph over Cornell Tuesday.
After the visitors pulled to within six points at 47-41 early in the second half, Triche hit a 3-point field goal and a made a conventional 3-point play to highlight a 12-0 spurt that put the game away for the Orange (5-0).
Andy Rautins connected on five 3-pointers en route to an 18-point night and Wes Johnson added 15 points and 10 rebounds while Kris Joseph contributed 13 points for Syracuse, which went from unranked to No. 9 after big wins last week against California and North Carolina.
Cornell (2-2) lost its 32nd straight game to Syracuse. The Big Red was led by Chris Wroblewski with 20 points and Ryan Wittman's 19 points.
