Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

NASHVILLE, Nov. 23 (UPI) -- Martin Erat scored twice for Nashville Monday in a 3-1 victory over the Detroit Red Wings, the Predators' sixth consecutive win.
Pekka Rinne blocked 31 shots for Nashville.
Jason Arnott sent the Predators ahead midway through the first period and they stayed in front the rest of the way.
Erat got his first goal in the second and scored again to seal the win with 2:20 left in the game.
Detroit's goal was scored by Andrew Miller in the second period.
Chris Osgood stopped 25 shots for the Wings, who have lost three of four games.
