RALEIGH, N.C., Nov. 22 (UPI) -- Jussi Jokinen scored the game-wining goal in Carolina's 3-1 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning Saturday.

Jokinen redirected a shot by Joe Corvo past Lightning goalie Mike Smith at 13:46 of the second period to break a 1-1 tie and ensure the Hurricanes' second consecutive win and at least one point in their last five contests.

Chad LaRose scored his fist goal of the season for Carolina and Tuomo Ruutu scored his sixth of the year.

"We played like we're capable of," said Ruutu, whose power-play goal at 2:35 of the second period tied the score 1-1. "We were rolling four lines ... and I thought everybody played well."

Martin St. Louis scored the lone Tampa Bay goal and staked the Lightning to 1-0 lead at 15:18 of the first period.

Manny Legace stopped 20 of the 21 shots he faced. Smith had 24 saves on 27 shots.
