HOMESTEAD, Fla., Nov. 22 (UPI) -- Kyle Busch clinched the Nationwide points title by winning the Ford 300 auto race at the Homestead-Miami Speedway.
He held off the hard-charging Carl Edwards in the last laps, beating him to the checkered flag in the season-ending Nationwide race at Homestead, Fla.
In the final standings, Busch and Edwards also finished 1-2.
"It was a little nervy," Busch said about his battle with Edwards for the lead in the closing laps. "I knew Carl was coming on fresh tires, because he was really fast."
During the sixth caution flag for an incident involving Erik Darnell, Busch and Jeff Burton made pit stops, while Edwards stayed on the track and took the lead, coming up short in the end.
Burton finished third, Joey Logano fourth and Denny Hamlin completed the Top five finishers.
Brad Keselowski finished third in the standings, but 12th in the race.
