NHL: Pittsburgh 3, Atlanta 2

ATLANTA, Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Martin Skoula had a pair of goals Saturday to pace the Pittsburgh Penguins to a 3-2 win over the Thrashers in Atlanta.

Evgeni Malkin scored Pittsburgh's other goal in support of Marc-Andre Fleury, who made 31 saves.

Chris Thorburn and Maxim Afinogenov accounted for Atlanta's scoring and Johan Hedberg stopped 31 shots.

Skoula opened the scoring at 7:38 of the first period with a wrist shot from the point. He made it 2-0 at 7:34 of the second period with a clean slap shot from the top of the left circle.

After Malkin made it a 3-0 game, Thorburn got Atlanta on the board with a short-handed goal at 9:40 of the third period.

Afinogenov pulled Atlanta to within one with 19 seconds left to play.
