
HOUSTON, Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Case Keenum threw five touchdowns passes Saturday, leading No. 22 Houston in a 55-14 Conference USA rout of Memphis.
The underrated junior from Abilene, Texas, completed 29-of-39 passes for 405 yards.
His four first-half scoring passes led Houston to a 42-14 halftime advantage and raised his season statistics to 4,194 yards with 31 touchdowns and just six interceptions.
Charles Sims gained 90 yards on 15 carries with two touchdowns.
Chaz Rodriguez caught seven passes for 98 yards with one touchdown.
Tim Monroe caught seven passes for 92 yards with one touchdown.
Back-up Cotton Turner passed for 173 yards with one touchdown, while Patrick Edwards added four receptions for 81 yards for the Cougars (9-2, 5-2), who have won six of seven.
Curtis Steele had 160 yards on 28 carries with two touchdowns for the Tigers (2-9, 1-6), who have lost five in a row.
