Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

DETROIT, Nov. 20 (UPI) -- Bryan McCabe scored just 40 seconds into overtime Friday, giving Florida a 2-1 victory over Detroit.
McCabe took a pass from Stephen Weiss and fired a one-timer from the right circle that escaped the grasp of Chris Osgood.
Weiss scored Florida's regulation goal and Scott Clemmensen made 39 saves in bringing the Panthers their fourth win in five games.
Detroit has lost two in a row. Both of the setbacks have come at home after the Red Wings had dropped just one of their first eight contests on their own ice.
Pavel Datsyuk produced the lone Detroit score, which came on the power play with 2:02 remaining in the second period. Weiss tied it 8:13 in the third with his seventh goal of the season.
Osgood saved 18-of-20 shots.
