NHL: Ottawa 6, Pittsburgh 2

OTTAWA, Nov. 19 (UPI) -- Chris Phillips scored two of Ottawa's four third-period goals Thursday, allowing the Senators to break open a close game and defeat Pittsburgh 6-2.

Ottawa scored six unanswered goals after giving up the first tally just 69 seconds into the contest. The Senators have put together consecutive victories for the first time in a month.

Matt Carkner tied it at 1-1 with a slap shot with 7:44 to play in the first and Milan Michalek scored on the power play early in the second to put the Senators in front.

Ottawa then overwhelmed Marc-Andre Fleury in the third period. Fleury eventually gave up five goals on 24 shots before giving way to Brent Johnson.

Chris Kelly and Jonathan Cheechoo also scored in the third period while Pascal Leclaire was coasting to an easy win.

Leclaire stopped 25 shots for his fourth victory in six starts.

Pittsburgh, which won its first seven road games this season, has dropped four straight away from home.
