Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24
OWINGS MILLS, Md., Nov. 18 (UPI) -- The illegal chop block thrown on Baltimore's Terrell Suggs by Cleveland quarterback Brady Quinn will cause Suggs to miss at least one game with a knee injury.
Suggs, a three-time Pro Bowl linebacker, suffered a severe ligament sprain in his right knee following a third-quarter pass interception.
His agent, Gary Wichard, has told the Carroll County (Md.) Times Suggs could miss the rest of the season.
Ravens Coach John Harbaugh said late Wednesday the prognosis is unclear.
"There is no procedure that is going to have to be done (to improve the injury) and we'll just see how fast it heals," he said.
Harbaugh said earlier he was "disappointed" by what he called an illegal block thrown by Quinn.
"I don't think Brady Quinn is the type of guy that goes out there and tries to hurt anybody. He's a class kid, always has been, but that is an illegal block," Harbaugh said. "There's no reason to do that and we are disappointed with that."
Quinn received an undisclosed fine from the NFL Wednesday.
He has apologized to Suggs, saying he was not trying to hurt him.
When Suggs is out Sunday against unbeaten Indianapolis, it will be the first time he has missed a regular-season game in his seven-year NFL career, breaking his 105-game consecutive games streak.
