
DENVER, Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Henrik Sedin's hat trick keyed Vancouver's offensive onslaught in the Canucks' 8-2 thrashing of the Colorado Avalanche.
Steve Bernier had two goals for Vancouver while Roberto Luongo provided the defense with 32 saves.
Sedin scored twice in the first period and again in the third on a power play that gave the Canucks a 6-2 lead.
Luongo kept Colorado off the boards until the third period when Matt Hendricks and Marek Svatos scored to cut the Vancouver lead to 4-2.
Tanner Glass, Mathieu Schneider and Jannik Hansen each had a goal and an assist for Vancouver, which ended a three-game losing streak. Mason Raymond and Ryan Johnson each had three assists.
Craig Anderson stopped 18 of 22 shots in two periods for Colorado. Peter Budaj took over in goal in the third period and stopped four of the eight shots he faced.
