NHL: Carolina 5, Minnesota 4 (S0)

RALEIGH, N.C., Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Carolina gave up two three-goal leads but finally ended its 14-game losing streak Sunday, beating the Minnesota Wild 5-4 with a shootout goal by Jussi Jokinen.

Ray Whitney scored a goal and two assists for the Hurricanes, who won for the first time since they topped Florida 7-2 Oct. 9.

Jokinen also scored a goal in regulation and Brandon Sutter and Joe Corvo each had a goal and assist for Carolina.

Michael Leighton was the winning goalie with 28 saves.

Robbie Earl scored twice for the Wild, who also had goals by Antti Miettinen and John Scott.

Minnesota's Niklas Backstrom stopped 31 shots.
