NHL: Atlanta 3, Edmonton 2

ATLANTA, Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Slava Kozlov's third-period goal sent Atlanta ahead and the Thrashers held on Sunday for a 3-2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers.

Kozlov, assisted by Todd White and Rich Peverley, scored with 8:01 to play, breaking a 2-2 tie.

Zach Bogosian and Maxim Afinogenov notched the other goals and Johan Hedberg finished with 34 saves for Atlanta, which has won four straight games.

Shawn Horcoff and Dustin Penner scored for the Oilers in their sixth loss in seven games.

Nikolai Khabibulin had 27 saves for Edmonton.
