Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

CARSON, Calif., Nov. 14 (UPI) -- The Los Angeles Galaxy advanced to the MLS Championship Game with a 2-0 overtime win over the Houston Dynamo Friday in Carson, Calif.
After regulation time in the Western Conference final ended with a scoreless tie, the Galaxy finally dented the scoreboard 13 minutes in when Gregg Berhalter scored after a David Beckham free kick in the Houston penalty area bounced off defender Ricardo Clark.
Six minutes later, Landon Donovan sealed the win by scoring on a penalty kick, his third goal of the postseason.
With the win, the Galaxy advance to next Sunday's MLS title game against the winner of Real Salt Lake and Chicago, who were slated to play in the Eastern Conference final Saturday.
