
BUFFALO, N.Y., Nov. 11 (UPI) -- Ryan Miller made 28 saves on 29 shots Wednesday, leading the Buffalo Sabres to a 3-1 win over the Edmonton Oilers.
Drew Stafford, Steve Montador and Jochen Hecht (empty net, unassisted) all scored once, while Tim Connolly had two assists for the Sabres, who snapped a two-game skid, having lost 5-2 at home to Philadelphia and 4-2 at Boston in their last two contests.
Montador's first goal this season came at the 7:34 mark in the second period.
Edmonton's lone goal was scored by Patrick O'Sullivan (power play) at 17:49 of the second.
Goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin gave up two goals on 25 shots for the Oilers, who have lost five of six.
On the power play in the penalty-filled contest, Edmonton went 1-for-7 and Buffalo failed to score on any of its four man-advantage chances.
