AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Nov. 11 (UPI) -- Charlie Villanueva scored 30 points Wednesday, Detroit shot 55 percent from the field and the Pistons ran away from Charlotte 98-75.

The Bobcats made 40-of-72 shots, giving rookie Detroit Coach John Kuester his first career victory over mentor Larry Brown.

Kuester was an assistant to Brown when Detroit won the NBA title in 2004 and they also worked together in Philadelphia.

Rodney Stuckey and Will Bynum both had 16 points for the Pistons, who reached the breakeven mark after eight games.

Nazr Mohammed led Charlotte with 13 points. The Bobcats have lost three in a row.

Detroit outscored Charlotte over the middle two periods 61-31. The Bobcats have lost eight times in their last 10 trips to Auburn Hills.
