BALI, Indonesia, Nov. 8 (UPI) -- Aravane Rezai on Sunday completed an undefeated run through the WTA Tournament of Champions in Indonesia and collected a first-place check for $200,000.

Rezai, the tournament No. 10 seed, was declared the winner when top-seeded Marion Bartoli retired with a leg injury. Rezai won the first set 7-5 and Bartoli was unable to come out for a second set.

Bartoli led 5-3 but needed to have her left thigh taped and then lost the set when she had a double fault on set point.

"I'm very sorry for Marion that this happened," Rezai said. "I'd prefer to win in a different way, but it's tennis, a lot of different things happen."

It was the second WTA title for Rezai, whose win in May at Strasbourg, France, earned her a berth in the season-ending Tournament of Champions.

Rezai lost her first set in the tournament but was untouched from there, which allowed her to get a bonus for being undefeated.
