
NEW ORLEANS, Nov. 8 (UPI) -- John Carney put New Orleans ahead with a late field goal and the Saints remained unbeaten Sunday with a 30-20 win over the Carolina Panthers.
Carney's 40-yard kick came with 4:36 to play and Anthony Hargrove sealed the win by returning a fumble 1 yard for a touchdown 2 minutes later.
Saints quarterback Drew Brees completed 24-of-35 passes for 330 yards, including a 54-yard touchdown toss to Robert Meachem.
Carney also booted field goals of 23 and 25 yards and Pierre Thomas ran for a 10-yard touchdown for the Saints, who are 8-0 for the first time in their history.
DeAngelo Williams rushed for 149 yards with touchdown runs of 66 and 7 yards and John Kasay kicked field goals of 32, and 25 yards for Carolina (3-5).
Jake Delhomme was 17-of-30 passing for 201 yards for the Panthers.
