CARSON, Calif., Nov. 8 (UPI) -- Landon Donovan's penalty gave Los Angeles a 1-0 win over Chivas USA Sunday, advancing the Galaxy to the Major League Soccer Western Conference finals.

Donovan scored in the 73rd minute.

Los Angeles won its home-and-home semifinal playoff series against Chivas USA by a 3-2 aggregate score.

The Galaxy will be at home against the Houston Dynamo next week. Houston beat Seattle 1-0 Sunday in the other conference semifinal.

Chicago and Real Salt Lake will play in the Eastern Conference final.
