HOUSTON, Nov. 8 (UPI) -- Brian Ching's goal in an extra-time period Sunday gave Houston a 1-0 Major League Soccer playoff win over Seattle and a berth in the Western Conference final.

Ching scored in the first of two 15-minute extra periods after the teams were locked in a scoreless draw in two home-and-home playoff games.

Houston advances to the Western Conference final for the third time in four seasons, going against Los Angeles, which beat Chivas USA 1-0 Sunday.

Chicago and Real Salt Lake will play in the Eastern Conference final.
